Happy Monday. “Happiness is not a destination you arrive at, but it’s a manner of travel.” –Apples of Gold

Do you have a merry heart today? If so, you are following a great prescription for health. Proverbs 17:22

Happiness, or joy, is not dependent on situations, but it flows from deep within as we choose it.

It has been said that folks are generally as happy as they have made up their minds to be. Notice thoughts are involved.

We can change a whole day by altering our attitude.

As we look around us, there is so much that is gloomy. Jesus said, “In the world ye shall have tribulation” (thanks a lot) “but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” John 16:331401042_untitled

Our Abba Father wants us to be happy. He made so much for us to smile about (look around). Consider the humpy camel, or Balaam’s donkey who talked to him.

A quote from Dr. Hyles is, “The heathen are waiting to see Christians who laugh and sing.” We are walking billboards.

In his book Deadly Emotions, Dr. Don Colbert has a chapter on “The Value of Joy.” He tells that he often prescribes several belly laughs a day for patients, which bring great results, even cures.

He tells us that laughter increases the level of feel good hormones by twenty-seven percent and the youth hormones by a whopping eighty-seven percent!

God said it long before the doctor—The joy of the Lord is your strength. Nehemiah 8:10

“A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance.” Proverbs 15:13

“A man really grows up when he learns to laugh out loud…at himself.”

  2. I love it. You are always an encouragement my dear friend! Wish I had something funny to tell you but I did have a “fun” time at our county Fair this past week as I dressed in 1900 period dress and was a school teacher one day and a “church lady” another day. I had to be careful and not show my ankles, wore gloves and hat at all times and that made me smile a lot. Praying for you. Love, Barb Nelson
