Happy Monday. Happy New Year.

It’s so hard to believe we are in the last days of another year.

Perhaps some of you are saying, “Good riddance!” Or maybe it has been one of those years filled with delight.medium_2926876465

We each one are looking at a blank page on which to write another part of our “story.” Psalms 90:9 says, “We spend our years as a tale that is told.”

A somber thought is, what will it say?

Quoting from the book The Butterfly Effect  by Andy Andrews “You have been created  in order that you might make a difference…The very beating of your heart has meaning and purpose…your life and what you do with it today…MATTERS FOREVER.”

Challenging thought!

Let’s decide that 2014 will be a year of really wise choices, based on the leadership of God’s word and the Holy Spirit. We can touch someone each day who needs it desperately.

“Touching Through Me”

“Whatever our hands touch–
We leave fingerprints!!!
On walls, on furniture,
On doorknobs, dishes, books,
As we touch we leave our identity.

Oh please where ever I go today,
Help me leave heartprints!!!
Heartprints of compassion
Of understanding and love.
Heartprints of kindness
and genuine concern.

May my heart touch a lonely neighbor
Or a runaway daughter,
Or an anxious mother,
Or, perhaps, a dear friend!!!

I shall go out today
To leave heartprints
And if someone should say
“I felt your touch,”
May that one sense be…
YOUR LOVE
Touching through ME.”

  2. I enjoy your posts, Mrs. Hyles! Thank you so much. I’m not sure if there is a greater joy than that of leaving an imprint of love on the lives of others. You have touched my life many times and I love you! Thank you for your love too.

  3. Thank you for your “touch” on my life. Many times I sensed your love and concern for me with a pat on my shoulder or a hand placed on my arm. Truly our hands have the ability to convey so much through touch, without our uttering a single word. May God bless you and your family in the coming year! I love you!
