Happy Monday. “But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.” Matthew 10:30
In my garage today is a brand new, metallic grey car, pretty, runs so smoothly, and, yes, has the “new car” smell.
And now, “the rest of the story.”
I really wasn’t wanting a car. My old one had been my comfortable mode of transportation for seven years, still pretty.
But, I kept thinking about my husband’s rule for me that I should have a new car every three or four years for safety, no major service needed.
I had prayed for a while that God would show me His thoughts. No bolt of lightning hit, not even a whisper.
The day came, Becky and husband Tim took me to a dealer to look. (Don’t look if you don’t want to buy.)
The right car was waiting with still no revelation I needed. But, hey, I was ready!
The day my car was to be delivered I ran errands in my old “friend,” then home to await the new one.
Delivery was made, paperwork done, and I went to back out of my garage to make room for the new.
My car wouldn’t start, not even a “grunt.”
I THINK I saw my car wink at me.
I THINK I heard it say, “I’m the bolt of lightning you’ve been looking for.”
As my care of seven years was towed, I thanked God for the care He has for all the details of my life…and yours!
I hope you get the point of my telling this story. He cares for you!
Oh, you might not get a new car or a new anything else. But you are breathing His air, living life He has given you, because, “you are of more value than many sparrows.”
Don’t hesitate to go to the Father with all the needs you have, however mundane they seem.
He wants to provide our daily bread (needs).
As author Max Lucado puts it:
“If God had a refrigerator, your picture would be on it.
If He had a wallet, your photo would be in it.
He sends you flowers every spring and a sunrise every morning.
You’re the apple of His eye and the delight of His heart.”
I love GOD!!! He is always “right on time”! Awesome example of HIS perfect timing. Enjoy the new car :} Love you!!!

Thank you for this. I think I’m feeling a little nostalgic as I’ve been listening online to the Pastors’ Conference in Santa Clara, CA, this week. It seems Br. Hyles is so “near” as I listen to the men who he loved and mentored. Thanks so very much for the sacrificial life you lived so that he could be a blessing and help to so many! And thanks for reminding me that I am precious to God. (I REALLY love to know that He is taking such extra special care of you, too!!)

Mrs. Hyles, I love that you put in your post about the fact that to God “you are of more value than many sparrows.” During these past 8 months of trying to recover from surgery, I have had that on my mind. I sing in my heart so many times the song, “His Eye is on the Sparrow” because it is such a comfort to me. Thank you, for these words. And, I’m so glad you were able to purchase a new car…I really hope you enjoy it. Praying for you and your family. I love you, Joyce
