Happy Monday. “Behold, I will do a new thing…”
This verse from Isaiah 43:19 just jumped out at me recently!
It continues, “it shall spring forth.”
I’m ready for it, aren’t you?
We get so bogged down with the “happenings” of life, not all pleasant. Sometimes an attitude of “poor me” comes forth.
Most often I find my life can be altered by a change of attitude.
My husband once used an illustration of how we look at life, people, circumstances. He held up a large sheet of white paper with a small black spot.
“What do you see?” he asked.
Of course, you know the answer, “a black spot.”
Why not all the white surrounding it?
Someone has said, “The blue of the sky is larger than the clouds.”
Unfortunately, we see things not as they are, but as we are, our thinking!
I don’t have control over the events of every day, but I do have control over how I think about it and react to it.
Would it not take care of grumbling and complaining if we really said David’s prayer of Psalms 19:14, “Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.”
The meditations truly set the tone of our talk!
Is it really possible to think on good things when nothing seems good?
Let’s ask Paul.
When he stood before King Agrippa, to plead his case, knowing his life was at stake, he made an amazing statement:
“I think myself happy.” Acts 26:2
Later the king said he was almost persuaded to become a Christian. No wonder!
That new thing can happen today with just an attitude adjustment. Too simple? Let’s give it a try.
I’m ready for spring! I can see the daffodils peeking through the ground now & it gives me hope. The final patches of snow have almost melted. Thank you for your encouraging words.
Happy Spring!

Thank you for reminding me of such a simple attitude adjustment that I need to make each and everyday. I find myself looking for the big answer to what I think is a big problem when the answer I used to use each day is right there staring me right in the face. I needed that attitude adjustment today. Thank you Mrs. Hyles and God bless you. Love ya Mrs. Lee Ann Gray
