Happy Monday. I’m confused!
The calendar says it’s spring. Just yesterday it was sunny, warm, in the 80’s.
Azaleas are blooming beautifully, trees are leafing out, and green is returning to our landscape.
A few days ago I was driving, and I came upon a field of bluebonnets. Breathtaking!
But our weather man has a gloomy forecast, heavy rain, large hail, possible tornadoes, and tomorrow–possible frost.
What’s that all about?
I forget from year to year how changeable springtime is.
Isn’t that much like life?
There are long seasons of sunny calm days and we accept them with glee!
Suddenly, a cloud arises and storms begin to blow.
Even though the same hand that sends the calm also produces the storm, I don’t accept that as readily, do you?
I found this quote from Charles Swindoll, “Life is literally filled with God appointed storms. These squalls surge across everyone’s horizon. We all need them.”
Need them?
According to C.S. Lewis, “these low points teach us lessons that we could learn no other way.”
God seems to include lessons we would like to skip. But He chooses our curriculum.
Whether we are two or one hundred two, we still have lessons to learn.
Doesn’t the change of seasons in our life make life a grand adventure? Every step we take, in triumph and loss, God walks by our side.
The sermons that come from life in stormy times can be powerful. Are you there today?

You’re so right! This class on life can be stormy at times and there are some classes that I would like to skip. However, I know I must attend, and continue learning through the storms of life. The best part is knowing that Jesus is at the helm of my boat and that He will never leave or forsake me. PTL

Michigan is much the same today. The temperature was in the 70’s yesterday and we are supposed to get 1 to 2 inches of snow tonight! Praying as God schools us, our lessons are learned! Thanks for the thoughts.
