Happy Monday.

Wow! December is here. Wasn’t Christmas just yesterday?

Frankly, I’m glad November is over.

Though I had a lovely Thanksgiving with all the trimmings, part of the month was dramatic.

First, I had a slight “fender bender.” Of course, every new car, it seems, has to be “initiated” into real traffic. Mine happened in the parking lot! Wouldn’t you know?

Next, one day, in a split second, I found myself flat on my face. I tripped, fell, and fortunately hurt nothing but my pride. But for a few days I felt like I had been run over by the “proverbial truck.”

A day or two later, I nearly burned my house down (that’s a whole other story). So I’m hoping these incidents really come in threes and I’m done!

I’m sorry to have to say, but a little fear, unrest settled on me during my “saga.” I remember thinking, “God, do you remember your clumsy child down here?”

And, yes, He did answer in a profound way.

Just a day or so ago, in a time of having a need that I thought was urgent, I almost went ahead of God to fill the vacuum; after I had unreservedly (I thought) given it to Him.

A few seconds before I would have completely ruined His outcome, God intervened with a simple phone call.medium_3212731193

Needless to say, I have a new regard for God and His timing. There is a fresh awareness that He cares for the smallest details of our lives. And He’s in charge of the timing.

Someone has said, “Don’t steal tomorrow out of God’s hands. Do not run impetuously ahead of God. Wait His time. The hour and the minute hand must point the exact moment for action.”

Do you have an answer too long in coming? Wait on God; no one else sees the whole picture.

  2. Thank you for sharing, reminds me we all have these times, and waiting is something we have to be reminded of again and again. Its not Christmas around here until we hear you singing “Sweet Little Jesus Boy” which we heard Tuesday on the radio. So glad you are in my life. God bless you and stay on your feet 🙂

  3. Thank you, Mrs. Hyles. I find that in what I think is passion for God and His work that I often try to rush ahead of Him. I can recount numerous times that I have found His timing is always best. We look forward to what God has in store. We will definitely be passing this on while on deputation and ultimately to the people of Myanmar (Burma). Have a Merry Christmas!

  5. Good morning Mrs. Hyles: You sure did have a November to remember. My mother always told me things come in 3’s and I have found that to be true in my life. Now you had your fender bender, your fall, your almost burning the house down now from all who love you that is enough. LOL!!! We so need your wisdom, advise and comfort for the days in our lives when it seems we have to reach up to touch bottom. From my husband, myself and the rest of the Gray family we wish you a wonderful, blessed and very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. With much love Mrs. Lee Ann Gray

  7. Dearest Mrs Hyles,
This past Saturday reminds me of the events that took place in your month of November. Our family had planned on going out soulwinning with another dear family in our church. Everything and anything took place before the hour was there, and I had to pray pray pray my way through trial and testing after silly event that took place!! But the Lord got the victory, and 6 precious souls were added to the role call in heaven. So, my dear lady friend, thank you for sharing. God is so good! Hope you are well.

  10. Thank you for this timely reminder. Too many times, I have decided that God was taking too long and I have chosen to charge ahead, not a good idea at all!! Thank you for your wisdom – I always look forward to Monday mornings with you!
