large_4734021381Have you ever had a “Blue Monday”? Let’s dispel the fact that we can’t change that. Could we just gather around a good thought plus a scripture (and maybe a cup of tea) and start our week in a positive way?

LET’S DO IT!

  1. Hey Mrs. Hyles!!! Greetings from Hammond!!! Carolyn and I are still here, still serving. I think of you often. I just recently started corresponding with David. (Dunno if he passed along the greetings I sent.) Neither Carolyn nor I work at the schools any longer: she’s working at an assisted living facility is south Munster and I am in nursing school at Purdue. For over 5 years now, I’ve sent out a daily Bible thought text and post a second one on Facebook, and then, Pastor Wilkerson asked me to record the thoughts for our radio station, so I have over a 1000 spots on there.

Just recently, I’ve thought about starting a blog…Do you have any advice on how to do it? I have no clue. Also, I’m writing a book (or 2)…any advice on that process?

Take care, dear lady. God bless you.

  3. Mrs. Hyles, I am so glad to finally have contact with you. I know you won’t remember me, but we attended First Baptist Church for 8 years while my husband attended Hyles-Anderson College and while we were on deputation. My husband, Paul, and I helped you with Vacation Bible School for 2 years. We have been missionaries in Japan for 22 years and are now living in Arizona. Anyway, I just wanted to let you know what a blessing you have been in my life. I remember telling our daughter, Shawn, to look to you as a Godly example of what a woman should be. Your example, along with Mrs. Evans, has made a big difference in my life. I appreciate you so much. Just wanted to let you know this. So often we fail to tell those who have meant so much in our lives just how much they have meant. Thank you for being you and for being such a wonderful example to so many women and young women through the years.

  8. Happy Monday to you, Mrs. Hyles! So glad to read your words on paper. I can hear your sweet southern drawl speaking them as I read them. Precious memories of Hammond together. Having said I can remember your voice, I wonder what God’s voice truly sounds like (rushing mighty wind, still small voice, etc)? I hear His Words daily, but am looking forward to the day I hear His Voice face to face! Thanks for your influence in my young days to help me stay on the pathway for our Lord.

    Love you.
